A beatnik love letter to travel, the open road, and the influences these formative experiences have on creativity, West of Somewhere was an exhibition I co-hosted and curated in partnership with Debaser Events at Goodspace Gallery in Sydney.

Gathering 12 talented emerging painters, poets, photographers, & videographers alongside 2 bands to share the art and music that travel inspired them to make, it was a special night. We had works shared from Vietnam, Laos, Kenya, Indonesia, Namibia, Colombia, The Balkans, Japan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Nepal, Mongolia & Georgia.

For the exhibition, I designed a range of prints especially for the event, with 50% of proceeds going to charity. These consisted of collages, photographs and junk journals created whilst on the road myself.

I also ran a social media campaign spotlighting artists, a series of interviews discussing their creative discipline, their altered perspectives acquired through travel, and the work they would be exhibiting.
