EXPLORADIUM* DESIGN

I started exploradium* design as a clothing & merchandise brand during the COVID-19 pandemic, as an outlet for visual art and to share my designs with the Australian creative communities. The apparel is oriented around deconstructing traditional motifs of Americana, rock & roll & metal culture - all scenes I grew up around in my upbringing with musician parents. It features cynicism and nostalgia simultaneously, intended to make the audience wonder whether the rose-tinted glasses are indeed on or off.

made exploradium* to show the importance of turning our back to the fakeness of Hollywood and the West (not the physical/ literal location, but the overarching desire for assimilation, consumption and hedonism that it represents). That’s just my manifesto in guiding the aesthetic - fashion has always been a vehicle for self-expression, and is liberating in its ultimate form.
