Objective:
I organised and curated an emerging arts showcase gallery in Sydney, featuring 2 bands, DJ sets, and 12 emerging visual artists encompassing painting, photography, film, sculpture and printmaking. The objective was to drive ticket sales and attendance to the event, and build hype around the event and exhibiting artists post-event as a showcase of the creative community.
My Role:
I curated and organised the event, then ideated, designed and executed artist showcase Instagram carousels and reels that effectively built hype around the artists individual contacts and communities, massively increasing ticket sales.
All creative content was created by me, with the exception of the hype-reel video, which was made by a collaborating videographer at the event - Jack Moran.
Execution:
As the exhibition revolved around the concept of travel and the art it inspires you to make, storytelling was a primary focus of the content. Artists were asked their favourite travel memories, their most treasured artefact or creation whilst on the road, and why they travel to create hightly engaging, personal content.
For all posters, I played off the idea of junk journalling and scrapbooking, using elements of travel such as postcards, postage stamps, polaroids and photographs.
Outcomes:
12 Local Artists, 2 Local Bands, 1 DJ showcased.
>100 attendees purchased tickets to the event.
50% of proceeds on artist sales were donated to charity.
>30,000 impressions on exhibition content.
